Obituary of James "Jim" Arthur Wright
James "Jim" Arthur Wright was born on February 22, 1960 in Durham, North Carolina. He passed on December 2, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his three children, Julia, Jacob, and Jared Wright, former wife Anita Wright, sister Sarah Wright Faircloth and half-sister Karen Ayyildiz, brother Sam Wright, and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Helen Crabtree Gibbs, stepfather Columbus Samuel Gibbs, and brother Harold Wright Jr.
Jim attended Durham High School. He was self-employed and owned his own painting business, WrightWay Painting Company, for around ten years.
Jim was a lover of all things UNC, especially basketball, 80's rock and roll, and the outdoors. He was extremely athletic in his prime and a math genius, though he'd never admit it. He loved a good joke and loved being around his friends and kids.
A viewing/visitation will be held Monday, December 5 at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough, 5-7pm. Jim always wanted to be cremated and his ashes will be scattered at Ocracoke Island, one of his favorite places. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. He will be greatly missed by many.
