Alton - Brenda Saxton White, 86, died at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026 at OSF St. Anthony's Hospital. She was born November 18, 1939 in South Roxana, IL the daughter of the late Glenn K. and Ruth (Jarvis) Saxton. She was an administrative secretary at Shell Oil Company, retiring in 1992. She married A. Paul White, May 15, 1971 in East Alton and he preceded her in death on May 28, 2015. She is survived by two step daughters, Paula Joe Dean Bristol of Wilton, IA, Jacqueline Jean Spencer (Mike) of White Hall, IL, four granddaughters; three great grandsons, three great granddaughters, a very special nephew, Mark Middlecoff of Greenville, OH, and niece, Laura Walton (Darryl) of Houston, TX and a special cousin and friend, Sharon White of Greenfiled, IL and her beloved pet, Kayla Jean. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Velda Mitchell and two brothers, Thomas G. Saxton and Wm Joseph Saxton. Per her wishes the body was cremated. Memorials may be made to Adopt-A-Pet, or BJC Hospice. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Gent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
