Jamesetta McIntyre Jeffries, 82, passed away on November 27, 2025. Services will be Saturday, December 6, 2025 beginning with visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at Antioch Baptist Church, 3315 Dixe Highway. Interment will be in Green Meadows Cemetery.
Jamesetta was born July 7 , 1943 the second child to the union of James and Esther Belle McIntyre, they both proceeded her in death, in addition to her parents she was also proceeded in death by Ernest L Jeffries Sr.(husband) , stepdaughters; Gail and Revelle and sisters Sharon, Yolanda, Joyce, Sandra and brother Coffy Jamesetta loved the Lord,and accepted him as her personal savior at a young age. She was baptized at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, under the pastorate of Rev. J.W. Adams.
Jamesetta or "Tootsie Roll" as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, was educated in the JCPS school system. Tootsie Roll retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company. She went into the catering business with her sister Dorothy Kennedy. She loved baking cakes and decorating for all types of functions. She made some beautiful wedding cakes that was so delicious. Tootsie enjoyed making her famous Christmas cookies and sending them out to everyone with love. She enjoyed organizing and putting together family reunions or any family function. ( always the 3 musketeers Jean, Barbra Ann, Tootsie) the golden girls who handled all the family functions. She loved her family and friends.
Tootsie loved her church family. She enjoyed working with the youth (YCBS). She was a Teacher, Bus monitor & Craft instructor. She made all the Y.C.B.S plays come alive. Tootsie roll was the director's right hand. She enjoyed working on the C.A.R.E ministry. Tootsie Roll worked with the Bereavement ministry. If you ever received a card, flowers, Afghan, or fruit basket she was the one who sent it on behalf of the church. She also was the Secretary for the care ministry. Tootsie enjoyed the Wednesday night Bible study and the Friday night Bible study with the passionate seekers. Whenever she could be assistance to the church she would.
Tootsie was a (UK) Big Blue Fan. She enjoyed watching and commentating plays on the basketball team. She enjoyed playing cards with her family. (Pokeno and left right center). Tootsie roll welcomed everyone with love, support, encouragement, and an open heart. She was always ready to lend a listening ear, and offer sound and wise words of wisdom.
Always loved and will be greatly missed by her loving family, daughter Natalie (George), sons, Randall McIntyre, Ernest D Jeffries (Angela), stepsons, Ernest Jeffries jr.(Donna), Ralph Jeffries (Delores), Curtis Jeffries (Mia), sister Dorothy Kennedy (Mickey), brother Lamont Marshal, sister cousin, Barbara Ann Harris, long-time friend Oneita Phillips, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.
