JAMIE IRENE ROSSETTI
Jamie was born on October 5, 1960, in
Spokane, WA. She was the oldest of three children born to John Jay and Alberta "Ginger" (Shelton) Cox. Jamie and her family moved around following her father's career moves in the US Navy, General Electric and as a business consultant. She lived in Paris France, California, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky, Florida, and Indiana. The family finally settled in Hillsboro where she went to Poynter Middle School. She attended Hillsboro High School and graduated with the Class of 1978.
She met her future husband, James "Jim" Rossetti, while he was at work. Jim's work was at the local ice cream shop and Jamie was a frequent customer. They soon began dating and following a five-year courtship they married on July 12, 1980. They made their home in the Beaverton and Hillsboro areas. In 1996, they moved to Rainier, OR where they resided until 2005 and returned to Hillsboro.
Jamie was a homemaker and a loving, devoted mother to her three children, Justin, Jennifer, and Jeffrey. When her kids were out of high school, Jamie continued her college education. Achieving a Bachelor of Science Degree from Portland State University in 2006, a Master's Degree in Education in 2008, and an English as Second Language Endorsement in 2009. Jamie started as a substitute teacher for both Beaverton and Hillsboro School districts. When she had her own classroom, she liked to teach English and History. Her last assignment was at Stoller Middle School in Bethany.
When her children were younger, she volunteered and supported them in their activities. She was a leader in both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and enjoyed all the duties of running several successful summer camps. Jamie was a member of the Labyrinth Society. She enjoyed exploring locations throughout the region and United States, making friends along the way. She was able to convince Jim to build her a beautiful brick Labyrinth in their backyard.
Jamie cherished her love of reading books and had the talent for speed reading along with her thirst for knowledge. She enjoyed spending time on the Oregon Coast, taking long walks, collecting shells, and one time a dog. She loved to bake and share her creations with her family, she was always planning a family gathering and treasured spending time with everyone.
She is survived by her loving husband Jim, three children and their spouses, Justin Rossetti and his companion Alice Peterson of
Vancouver, WA, Jennifer and Ryan Colin of
Vancouver, WA, Jeffrey and Alisha Polich-Rossetti of Arizona, her parents, Jay & Ginger Cox of Hillsboro, OR, two siblings and their spouses, Elizabeth Cox and Jim Mullins of Hillsboro, OR and John Cox and Lisa Bergstedt of Portland, OR. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jude, Joshua, and Boston as well as several nieces and nephews.
