Jan Bishop
Janice F. “Jan” Bishop, 85, widow of Dr. William L. Bishop, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum.
Born August 3, 1940 in Forest City, NC., she was the daughter of the late J.W. Dobbins and Pauline Mathney Dobbins DeBrule. She was formerly employed with Spartanburg Medical Center in Information Services and a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church where she helped lead the Women of Faith Group.
Surviving are her daughters, Tonya Stott and Eric of Chesnee, Dana Jones of Charleston, Brandi Bishop of Spartanburg and several wonderful grandchildren, Tyler Stott, Tiffany Stott Page and Austin, Abby Jones, Noah Jones, Bridges Bishop, Maggie Bishop, and Lucie Bishop.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Brian William Bishop and a brother, Lance Dobbins.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Buck Creek Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church with Reverend Scott Scrimpsher officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Upstate Community Hospice House, 260 Fairwinds Road Landrum, SC 29356.
Family members are at the home.
