Jana was such a BEAUTIFUL person. She had a sweet spirit and the most gorgeous eyes. I was so jealous of those eyes, by the way. I got to know Jana while in high school. We were in the same grade but attended different schools. Her father was my high school band director and Jana and I first became friends because we were both fabulous flutists : ). Jana and I hung out together off and on throughout high school. After graduation, like most kids, we fell out of touch. She and Kevin did come to my wedding in 2006 and I remember telling Kevin that he better be good to the sweet girl he was dating. As the years passed, my mom on occasion would see Jana's mother or father in the store and would ask about Jana. Then, she would relay the information back to me: her wedding, work, pregnancies, and the births of her two precious babies. I was so happy to hear she was doing well. This morning, my mom told me once again some information about Jana. This time it was the heartbreaking news of her passing. I cried and told her I wish I would have known she was sick. I know that the Lord gives and the Lord takes away and that I need to bless his name in all things. Jesus is our comfort, the source of everything we need. He will never leave us. I just want to say to Jana's family that Jesus knows everything you are going through and that he loves you. Jana was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by so many. I am so thankful for the friendship we shared. Hugs, Lucinda Welch (Gannon)

My heart hurts with such deep pain over the lost of a good friend and co worker. All of our prayers could not heal the pain that Jana was going through. Jana fought with every part of her being, but sadly could not overcome. I love you and will help keep your spirit alive in your children.

My heart goes out to Jana's family for the deep loss you must be feeling. How sad to lose someone so loved and so needed. May you find comfort in prayer and in the love you have for one another.
