Jandee Kauflin, affectionately known as "Yi," passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 72. Born on June 8, 1952, in Ubon, Thailand, Jandee was a beloved figure who left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew her.
As a stay-at-home mom, Jandee dedicated herself to raising her three daughters, Connie (Keith) Shilt, Donna (Justin) Rudd, and Angie Burgess.
Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, encompassing her cherished grandchildren: Devin Burgess, Maddie Pennington, Trevor Burgess, Owen Rudd, Jaeli Shilt, and Gehrig Shilt. Additionally, she was delighted to welcome great-grandchildren Quintin Burgess, Brinley Burgess, and Zayne Burgess into her family. She is also survived by her sister, Chom Wilanan, who will carry forward the memories of their shared upbringing.
Jandee was a woman of many passions. She found joy in gardening, where she cultivated not only flowers and vegetables but also lasting memories with her family. Cooking her native Thai dishes was another of her loves, as she often shared her heritage through the flavors of her culinary creations. Jandee cherished the time spent with her family and friends, who were often drawn to her warm and welcoming presence. Her faith played an important role in her life, and she enjoyed attending church, finding solace in her spiritual community. Jandee will be fondly remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the love she radiated to those around her.
Jandee was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Kauflin, who she shared 18 beautiful years of marriage with, as well as her parents, Mau Wilanan and Grum Dee Wilanan. While Jandee may no longer be with us, her legacy of love, strength, and resilience will continue to resonate within the hearts of her family and friends. Her gentle spirit and nurturing nature will be profoundly missed but will forever remain a part of the lives she touched.
