On Wednesday, 9 February 2022, Jane Williams Bozeman, better known as Momma and Mawmaw, died in her home in Lexington, NC. She was 67 years young, surrounded by her cherished loved ones when she left this world to enjoy eternity in heaven.
Surviving Jane is her husband, Rodney Bozeman, who was her friend, lifelong partner, and caregiver; her daughter Emily Averill, married to Jim Averill, who are the parents of Leigh and Juliet; her son, Erik Bozeman; her brothers Wayne Williams and Omar Williams; her sister-in-law Jane Swing; and her precious four-legged furbabies. Reuniting with Jane in heaven are her parents, Sybil and Donnie Williams, and her brother-in-law Doug Swing.
She was born and raised in the Reeds community, where she also chose to build her house with Rodney and nurture their two children. Her home was a place for anyone who needed love and support, including family, friends, friends of her children, and countless stray pets. Jane knew how to find goodness and beauty in others, which she used to inspire people to believe in themselves.
Jane was a child of God and wanted nothing more than for her family to trust in Him too. Her greatest joys in life were her grandgirls, for whom she prayed relentlessly! She adored all of God's creatures but had an affinity for cats, so she adopted as many as possible throughout her life. She was moved by music, found peace near the ocean, and cherished time with her beloved family.
Momma will be missed deeply; Mawmaw will be remembered forever; Jane will live on in many hearts. "The things she said and the things she did surround us."
Her children are hosting a reception on Sunday, 20 February 2022, at her daughter's home, floating from 1:00-4:00. Contact family for the address.
