Jane Ann Camerota, 72, of Somers, beloved wife of 47 years to Frank Camerota, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Northampton, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Jane (Reynolds) Squires. Jane Ann lived most of her life in the Somers community and was a faithful communicant of St. Bernard Church of St. Jeanne Jugan Parish.
Above all else, Jane Ann was a devoted family woman, whose greatest joy came from caring for the people she loved most. She had a gift for creating a warm, welcoming home where everyone felt valued, supported, and understood. The center of her world was her family, and she found her greatest happiness in the time she spent with them. Her grandsons were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment she shared with Andre and Silvio.
Jane Ann's kindness, nurturing nature, and deep loyalty touched all who knew her. She was the person her family and friends could always depend upon - thoughtful, and compassionate. Her friendships were lifelong and cherished, especially the close bond she shared with Alexis Licursi, whom she loved like a daughter.
Besides her husband, Frank, Jane Ann is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Alexander, and her husband, Bryant, of Somers; her adored grandsons, Andre and Silvio; and her brother, Edward Squires of Suffield. She was predeceased by her sister, MaryLou Cotter.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. Family and friends may gather at 9 a.m. on Friday, November 21, at Leete-Stevens for a procession to St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Committal will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Enfield.
