Funeral services for Mrs. Jane Buckley Dupree, age 87, of Swartz, LA, will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 22nd, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Charles V. Dupree, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the service begins at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
Jane was born November 30, 1935, in Monroe, Louisiana and went to be with her Lord and Savior the afternoon of June 19, 2023. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Swartz. She loved sitting on her porch watching her hummingbirds and being with her family. She loved holidays and cooking with all her family together. She also volunteered to hand out food for those less fortunate. She started her career in retail at the old Morgan and Lindsey store and eventually moved to Wal-Mart and retired from there as a department manager.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Charles V. Dupree Sr.; parents, Horace Buckley and Corda Belle Buckley; brothers, HQ Buckley, Douglas Buckley, Marcus (Bo) Buckley, Horace “Bud” Buckley; sisters, Katherine Irwin, Ruth Smith, Lois Fiddler, Maxine Washington, Inez Cavey; and granddaughter, Alyssa Neitz.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are three children, Charles V Dupree Jr and wife Kim, Debbie Mullins and husband Todd, Darrell Dupree and wife Shannon; five grandchildren, David Dupree, Amy Dupree Friery, Jennifer Neitz, Deborah Neitz Wood, Joseph Neitz III and step granddaughter, Josie Mullins; eight great grandchildren, Cooper Dupree, Rocco Dupree, Elliana Dupree, Micah Friery, Colby Neitz, Layne Cowart, Nixon Wood, Vally Ann Wood and Joseph Neitz IV; one sister, Corda Queen; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Todd Mullins, Joseph Neitz, Colby Neitz, Landon Wood, Layne Cowart, and Brian Ticheli.
A special thank you to Ouachita Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center staff, nurses and CNAs for their tender loving care.
Her internment will be at Loch Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy 139, Swartz.
