Jane Kurre Elliott

Jane Kurre Elliott, 61, of Owensboro, passed away Monday, August 28 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Ms. Elliott was born December 7, 1955 in Daviess County to the late Dr. Joseph H. Kurre and Mary Foley Kurre. Janie graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in 1974 and graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1978. She worked briefly for Nieman Marcus before becoming a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. Janie had an innate flare for decorating and taking something used and making it look beautiful. She loved fashion, watching sports, and walking. Janie will be remembered as a very cheerful person with a great sense of humor. Ms. Elliott also was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Margaret Kurre. Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Bryan Elliott and wife Sara of Atlanta and Alan Elliott and wife Stephanie Moore currently stationed at Ft. Campbell; sister, Martha House of Owensboro; brothers, John Kurre and wife Edna of Baltimore and Joe Kurre and wife Barbara Sue of Bristol, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Jackson and Raelyn Elliott; numerous nieces and cousins. The service will be noon Thursday at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Father Jerry Riney officiating. Burial will be at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at the church from 11:00 till noon. Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the charity of your choice in Jane's name.
