Jane Gase Obituary
Jane was born on July 8, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from Glenville High School and went on to attend Penn State University, where she was a proud member of the Nu Gamma chapter of Chi Omega, graduating in 1950. Jane and her beloved Walt were married on October 30, 1952. Together they built a beautiful life and welcomed three children: David, Laurel, and Wendy.
Jane had an insatiable curiosity throughout her entire life. She loved learning, asking questions and connecting with people. She was truly a friend to all with an unmatched sense of humor, wit and wisdom. There was always a seat open at Jane's table! She was rarely without a book or crossword puzzle nearby. Jane loved attending shows at Playhouse Square, playing bridge and mahjong with friends and taking the scenic route wherever she went. Above all else, Jane loved her family fiercely and deeply. She never missed a game, dance recital, birthday dinner, or any other special occasion, no matter how big or small.
She was the pillar of her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her beautiful legacy will live on in her loved ones forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in memory of Jane to the Chagrin History Center, P.O. Box 515, Chagrin Falls, OH 44022.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jane's life and legacy will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Tuesday, November 11, at 10:30 a.m. Interment Lake View Cemetery. Please sign the funeral home Tribute Wall at: https://www.murphyfamilyfuneralhome.com/

I will always have fond memories of my Aunt Jane (and Uncle Walt). We had such good times as kids with our families at our house and their house on Faraday. She was such a kind and giving person. She will be missed.

Rest in peace Jane she was such a sweet lady. I only knew her for a short time as her caregiver. She was truly a sweet lady i am going to miss her.
