Jane Karp Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Funeral & Cremation Services and Cemetery - North Olmsted on Jun. 18, 2024.
Jane Ann Karp (Burger) went on to join her twin sister Jean Ann in a joyful reunion, on Friday, June 14, 2024.
Jane was born February 3, 1940, to Eugene and Olga (Orosz) Burger on the west side of Cleveland where she attended John Marshall High School and met David the love of her life. They were married after graduation in 1959 and began a beautiful family together.
Jane, who had worked as a secretary, and Dave, who worked as a pressman and managed the apartment building they lived in, were an unstoppable couple. Together, they had three children: Tina Jean, Daniel Wayne, and Tammey Jane. The Karps became the epitome of the modern American family and were active in civic, school, and union organizations.
At home, Jane and Dave created a nurturing environment focused on providing their children with a better life than their own. They exposed their kids to new experiences and opportunities by attending theater, and concerts, and embracing new ways of learning, their children were able to attend college and pursue careers in the arts. Jane made sure that their home was a place where appreciation and care were valued as much as the physical beauty of the house.
A lifetime of love led to her greatest joys, five grandchildren that she adored. As a grandmother, Jane became "Bana" to Nathan, Olivia, Willy, Josh, and Eliza. Each of her grandchildren learned from her the qualities of humor and tenacity that made Bana the center of every family celebration. She was their greatest supporter and their most honest touchstone.
Jane and Dave have been inseparable for more than 65 years and although she will no longer be at the family celebrations, she is present in the faces and hearts of her children and grandchildren. Jane was preceded in death by her parents and sister Jean Ann White (Burger) and is survived by her husband David James Karp, her three children Tina Jean (Karp) Walczuk (Raymond), Daniel Wayne Karp (Merri Hehr), and Tammey Jane Karp (Pam Callahan). and her five grandchildren Nathan Walczuk (Nina Lupica), Olivia Karp (Kurt Miller), William Karp, Joshua Walczuk, and Eliza Karp.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date for the close family. Jane's family is finding joy in sharing stories about Jane, their family, and friends. If you feel so moved, reach out and tell us your story about the Karps.
