Jane Odom

1936 - 2026

Jane L. Odom, 89, of Freeburg, IL; born on July 17, 1936 in Red Bud, IL, the daughter of Alfred and Gertrude (née, Liefer) Stellhorn; passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Freeburg Care Center.



Jane was a life member at St. John Lutheran Church in Sparta. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. Jane was absolutely loved and adored by the staff and residents at Freeburg Care Center. She was thankful for the kind-hearted people that provided assistance to her for the last nineteen years. Jane loved listening to Elvis and dancing to his music; She is dancing with him now heaven.



She is survived by one daughter – Vickie J. Droege of Freeburg, IL; three sons - James "Rickie" Odom of Tampa, FL, Gary Alan Odom of Festus, MO, and Larry Douglas Odom of Sparta, IL; two grandchildren – Brandy (spouse, Zion) Lovingier of Las Vegas, NV and Chase Alan Ripley of St. Louis, MO; and two great-grandchildren - Zarra Rene Lovingier and Tarot Della Ripley; twin sister ­­- Joan Kloth of Walsh, IL.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husband– James A. Odom; brothers - Ralph Stellhorn, Roger Stellhorn, William Stellhorn, and Gilbert Stellhorn; two sisters – Evelyn Koch and Margaret Stellhorn; brother-in-law - Ronald Kloth.

The Visitation will be held at St. John Lutheran Church in Sparta, IL on Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Carl Miller officiating. Committal Services will take place at Coulterville Cemetery.
