Jane Elizabeth "Janie" Olds
Born January 14, 1951 – Passed October 25, 2025
Jane Elizabeth Olds, known lovingly to all as Janie, was a beacon of faith, courage, and warmth throughout her cherished life. Born on January 14, 1951, in Austin, Texas, Janie's journey was marked by love, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to her faith and family. She was called to her heavenly home on October 25, 2025, in Kingsland, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, grace, and quiet strength.
Janie's life was a testament to the power of family and community. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Kyle Olds and Christopher Olds, and her daughter, Stacy Smith. She shared the joys of family with her daughters-in-law, Tiffany and Kimberley, and her son-in-law, Michael. Her grandchildren, Cameron Barton and Kaedynn Olds, and Haley Nixon, Hayden, Grayson, and Landon Olds, were the light of her life and the source of her greatest joy.
Janie spent her career proudly serving as a school bus driver, where she was known for her dependability, cheerful spirit, and love for the children she transported each day. She was a "Super Sub" who could always be counted on to step in whenever she was needed and was deeply involved in the Bus Rodeo, where she competed and supported her fellow drivers with enthusiasm and pride.
A woman of deep Christian faith, Janie lived each day as a reflection of the love and grace of her Savior. She was thoughtful, loyal, and steadfast, always the first to offer a prayer, a smile, or a helping hand.
Beyond her work and faith, Janie had a gentle love for animals. She spent many peaceful hours watching Animal Planet and caring for her beloved pets over the years. She will now be reunited with her cherished dog, Chloe, who was waiting faithfully on the other side.
Janie also found joy and peace in her garden. Tending to her flowers and plants brought her comfort and pride, and she loved watching life grow and bloom under her care. Heaven's gardens are now in good hands, lovingly tended by her gentle spirit.
Janie was preceded in death by her father, Arnold Kopecky; her mother, Marjorie Bundy; her former husband, Larry Olds; and her loyal companion, Chloe.
Her siblings, Kathy Young, Eileen Day, and Edward Bundy, along with her nieces and nephews, will remember her as a source of guidance, laughter, and unconditional love.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. We take comfort in knowing her hands are still busy, her heart still kind, and her garden still blooming. Arrangements are pending and will be shared once finalized.
