Jane Marie "Janie" Pohl

Jane Marie "Janie" Pohl, 70, of Louisville passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, at University of Louisville Hospital, surrounded by her family after a brave battle with leukemia.
Janie was born on March 6, 1955, in Louisville, a daughter to the late John Robert Daus and Valeria M. Buechler Daus. She was a 1973 graduate of Westport High School and spent 23 wonderful years as a kindergarten teaching assistant at Wilder Elementary, where she made lasting friendships and touched countless young lives before retiring.
Janie was a longtime member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church and lived her faith through her generosity and love for others. She was the heart of her family and adored her 4-legged furbabies. She found great joy in cooking, entertaining, gardening, traveling, and cheering on UofL basketball and football. Among her favorite memories were her multiple visits to see her granddaughters in Hawaii and Las Vegas.
She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 48 years, Gary; daughter, Jennifer DeLion (John); son, Jason Pohl; two granddaughters, Eloise and Abigail; sister, Patricia Totten (John); two nephews, David Totten (Marisa) and Scott Totten; and two great-nieces, Emily and Kahlan.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at St. Albert the Great, 1395 Girard Drive with burial to follow in St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-7pm on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews.
