Funeral services for Jane Ray, 78 of Giddings, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. John Waak officiating. Burial will follow in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, December 15, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Jane Martha (Mutschink) Ray was born on December 11, 1946, in Giddings, Texas, to Walter L. and Mathilda M. (Schulze) Mutschink. She was united in marriage to Robert Ray on March 9, 1977, in San Marcos, Texas. They had one son, Shane. Jane worked for the Narcotics Division of Texas Department of Public Safety in Austin for many years. Shortly before retiring, Jane and Bob moved back to Giddings. She was a faithful and longtime member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings. She enjoyed fishing, watching football and was a huge Texas Longhorn fan.

Jane passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in an Austin hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mathilda Mutschink; two sisters, Frances Sykora and Dorothy Miller; two brothers, Wilbert Mutschink and Bobby Mutschink, and a brother-in-law, Erwin Namken.

Jane is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Shane & Melissa Ray of Giddings; four grandchildren, Breanna & Jake Holland of Giddings, Ethan Ray of Giddings, Conner Ray of Giddings and Jacob Ray of Giddings; two great grandchildren, Lucy Rieck and Eli Holland both of Giddings; one sister, Gladys Namken of Giddings as well as several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ethan Ray, Conner, Ray, Jacob Ray, Jacob Holland, Kevin Nusbaum, Lee Nusbaum.

Memorials may be made to Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings or to the charity of one's choice.
