Age 75, passed away early Friday morning, January 6, 2023. Jane was born in Kalamazoo on March 24, 1947, the daughter of Phillip and Helene (Hoekstra) Covell. On April 8, 1983, she married John Douglas Veech who preceded her in death on April 18, 2022. Jane was an avid gardener and she enjoyed watching old movies and TV shows. She worked for many years at Borgess Hospital as a Medical Transcriptionist. She was a fan of listening to records. Jane was a very social person and loved spending time with friends, shopping, going out to eat, and going to the movies. Even though she was allergic to cats, she always seemed to have one and she also had dogs. She was a devoted wife and mother. Jane is survived by her daughter Marta Veech of Kalamazoo; her special four-legged friend, Bella; and many, many other friends. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents.

Jane was my favorite cousin. She was a few years older than myself, but she always treated me like a friend, never like some pesky kid. Jane arranged for both of us to see plays and would even take me back stage to ask the actors for autographs. She was kind, humorous, patient, and wonderful. I miss you Janie!
