Janek "Jack" Mandelbaum

I was a high school buddy of Jack´s son John and enjoyed being around John´s dad! Him and his wife Frances were so fun and kind to me! Great memories.

In preparation for our visit to the Auschwitz traveling museum at Union Station two years ago, approximately 80 of my 7th and 8th grade students at Billy Mills Middle School read Jack's book, "Growing Up in the Holocaust." Students were exposed to the truth through the eyes of Jack. Thank you, Jack, for sharing your story with the world. Your book has and will continue to influence the world, especially young people.
