Graveside services for Janelle Davis Sitton, 94, of Henderson will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 5, 2024, at Lyles-Sanders Cemetery in South Rusk County with Dr. David Higgs officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Crawford A. Crim Funeral Home, Henderson.
A register book will be available for friends and family to sign and pay their respects on Wednesday, July 3, and Thursday, July 4, from 8 AM until 5 PM at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sitton passed away on July 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 12, 1930, to her parents, Apton and Lovera Davis, in Nacogdoches County, Texas. Mrs. Sitton graduated from Mt. Enterprise High School and attended business school in Dallas, Texas. On March 3, 1951, she married Billy Bob Sitton, and they were married for seventy-three years. Mrs. Sitton worked at Bath Law Firm, First National Bank and retired from Henderson ISD after 25 years of service. Mrs. Sitton was a member of First Baptist Church, Henderson, Texas. She taught Sunday School to children and she and her husband taught Single Adults for many years. They also made several mission trips with the church during the 1970's. She enjoyed singing in the Keenager Choir. Upon moving into assisted living, Janelle looked forward to worshipping with her friends from First Baptist Church at Brookdale Senior Living every Sunday afternoon. She was a loving wife, mother, MiMi, sister-in-law and aunt to her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy, her parents, Apton and Lovera Davis, sister, Jeanette Tallant, brother, Bobby Davis and sister-in-law, Martha Davis, brothers-in-law, Brooks Sitton and Kenneth Penney, and sisters-in-law Alice Sitton and Louise Sitton and nephew Edwin Sitton.
She is survived by her son, Kerry Sitton (Lynn), grandsons, Korey Sitton and Kerby Sitton (Sammie) and great-grandchildren, Kohen and Sloan Sitton. Also, two brothers, Major C. Davis (Carolyn), Jack W. Davis (Judy), brothers-in-law, Max Tallant and Carrol Keith Sitton, sisters-in-law Julia Kay Penney and Deborah Ann Jones (Jerry) and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Quisha Kelly, Cecilia Penney, Loretta Vanzandt, Leslie King, Dee Jeffery and Three Oaks Hospice, Melissa Cunningham, JeRae Standley, Cheyenne Wyatt, Jake Culpepper, Erica Tillman, Jay Smith and Pine Lodge for their loving service and care.
In lieu of flowers and plants, those wishing to honor her memory may send memorial donations to First Baptist Church, 207 W. Main Street, Henderson, TX 75652 or an organization of your choice.
