Janet Ann McKee Acker
February 12, 1955 - November 1, 2025
Janet Ann McKee Acker, 70, of Kennewick, Washington, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025. She was born on February 12, 1955, in Portland, Oregon, to James A. McKee, Sr. and Joyce J. (Duty) McKee.
Janet spent the past 12 years living in the Tri-Cities, where she built a life surrounded by family, friends, and the things she loved most. She worked for many years as a bartender, a role that fit her warm personality and her ability to make everyone feel welcome.
Janet was a fierce, fearless woman - never afraid to face challenges head-on and always ready to stand up for what she believed in. Along with her strength and determination, she had an incredibly kind and caring heart. She loved helping others, especially those she cared about most, and she gave of herself freely and without hesitation.
A passionate gardener and devoted animal lover, Janet found joy in tending her plants, watching birds, and caring for all creatures great and small. She loved her family deeply and cherished every moment spent together. Her happiest days were filled with laughter, home-cooked meals, baking for loved ones, and trips to the beach or the casino.
Janet married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Acker, on November 8, 1998. Together, they shared a life full of love, adventure, and unwavering companionship. She is survived by her husband, Bob; her children, Anna Ostby and William Lambert; her siblings, James A. McKee, Jr., Ann Duty Winkelman, and Linda Duty; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her deeply.
Janet's kindness, courage, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew her. She will be remembered always for her loving heart, her fierce independence, and the joy she brought into the lives of others.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
