Janet was a high school friend that I periodically keep in touch with for over 35 years. She grew into a very beautiful person-inside and out. I ran into her various times in Manhattan. It seemed like I saw her only recently. She was on my mind and I am so saddened to discover this news today

I worked with Janet until the mid-80s at The National Underwriter. She joined the company right out of college. She was a sweet girl and a talented writer just starting out. I was saddened to hear, just today, of her passing at such a young age.

I knew Janet from a doctor's office she used to go to. She left such a memory in my heart and I am so sad that I am just finding out about this now. Rest in peace beautiful lady. I will always remember her beautiful laugh and smile. She always made my day.

I was so sorry to hear about Janet's passing. I did not know her very well, having met her only a few times,
However,I do remember her staying with me when she was just a toddler, and playing with my daughter Leah.
I did meet her on the few occasions when I visited New York, and found her to be charming and outgoing.I find it
a bit unnerving that she has passed away at such a young age, as did her namesake,Yette (Janet) Aschkenasy.

Janet worked for me at Plan Sponsor magazine in the mid-90s, then took over as managing editor after I left. We remained good friends ever since. How could we not? Janet was a delight to work with -- serious and idealistic, but always cheerful, generous and ready for new challenges. I loved getting together with her for lunch, periodically, to grouse about the state of the freelance writing business, to hear about her ventures in yoga (a natural for Janet), and to share a delicious dinner with her and Jimmy at their apartment. I'll miss her very much. Her sudden passing is a shock, but I have lots of good memories and her presence brightened my life. Family and friends who knew her much longer: what a privilege!

I am deeply saddened to learn that the world has lost Janet, a kind, gentle, optimistic soul. She was my editor when I wrote for Plan Sponsor magazine in the late 1990s and early 2000s. She was a devout yogi and I once attended a class with her. My thoughts are with her family and friends. May her memory be for a blessing.

Janet was a dear friend for more than two decades. I worked with her as the Washington correspondent when she was managing editor and editor at Plan Sponsor. She was bright and accomplished as a writer and editor. She was always cheerful and a delight to work with. I got to know her and Jimmy her husband and we became good friends. I miss her very much. People like Janet are very rare in this world and it's a terrible thing to lose them.
