Janet A. Blessing, age 90, of Sabina, passed peacefully on July 15, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born at home, in Sabina, on March 14, 1935, she was the daughter of Ernest and Dortha Cline Geary.
Her parents owned and operated Geary’s Greenhouse in Sabina. Following her graduation from Sabina High School, Janet continued her education at floral design school. She worked, as a designer, alongside her parents and continued to do so as the business changed ownership. Now McCarty Gardens, Janet was still working weekly until a fall in December of 2024. She enjoyed her time doing what she loved with her floral family.
Janet was a member of the Eastern Star in Waynesville and the Sabina United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working puzzles and being social. The last few months of her life, Janet lived at Carriage Court in Washington Court House. She immensely enjoyed her time, various activities and outings while there.
Janet is survived by her children: Gary Blessing of Buffalo, New York, Ruth (Terry) Lovett and Diane Blessing, all of Washington Court House. Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren: Dallas, Derrick, and David Holbrook, Brandon Lovett, Ashley (Travis) Burden, Chloe Lovett and Toby Lovett; and great-grandchildren: Emery, Ellie and Ensley.
Janet was preceded in death by her daughter in-law, Janice Blessing and sister, Elaine (Richard) Wilson.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 1-3pm at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina. A graveside service, at Sabina Cemetery, will follow.
