Janet A. "Andres" Broady

Janet A. Broady, a resident of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on May 19, 1944, in New Albany, Janet lived a life full of love, service, and dedication to her family and community.

Janet was the beloved mother of Douglas A. Broady and his wife, Sandi and Angela S. Popham and her husband, Micky, as well as a cherished grandmother to her grandson, Zad Broady. She is also survived by her dear sister Carolyn Thornton and her husband, Chris Forney. Janet was preceded in death by her loving parents, Leroy and Agnes Andres (Sprigler), her devoted husband, Donald P. Broady, and her sister, Joyce McCoy.

A proud businesswoman, Janet was the owner and operator of Sellersburg Motors, which she co-owned and operated with her husband for many years. Even in her later years, she continued to work diligently, lending her warm smile and helpful nature to customers at McKinley Cleaners and Jim O'Neal Ford.

Her faith was an integral part of her life. Janet was a member of the St. John Paul II Catholic Church in Sellersburg, where she both worshipped and served. She was also an active participant in the Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority and the Day Spring Emmaus Community, forming lifelong friendships and contributing to her community in meaningful ways.

A funeral service will be held to honor and celebrate Janet's life at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172) on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Garr Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the service at the funeral home.
