Janet Louise Bumpus

Janet L. (Bergeron) Bumpus, of East Bridgewater, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025 at the age of 80.
Janet was born and raised in Brockton before moving to East Bridgewater where she raised her family. In her earlier years, Janet worked at the credit bureau before taking time off to care for her own family. After her children started school, Janet went back to work, where she worked for multiple insurance companies. She enjoyed ceramics, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and playing Rummy.
Janet's main passion in life was spending time with those she loved, whether hosting backyard cookouts or enjoying peaceful vacations on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. Her presence made those moments feel special. She cherished trips for ice cream and having her grandchildren over as much as possible. Janet will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and steadfast love for her family. She carried a quiet strength and a generous heart that touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Janet will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her, and her memory will forever live on in the laughter and love she helped create.
She was the beloved wife of over 50 years to the late Albert Bumpus. She is survived by her sons Robert Bumpus of Bridgewater and Joseph Bumpus and his wife Vanessa of Holden. She was known as "Nana" by her grandchildren Hailey, Robert Jr., Lilly, and Alex. Cherished daughter of the late Wilfred and Grace Bergeron. Caring sister of Carol Thompson of Easton, and the late Jack Bergeron and Joanie Bergeron. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 4-7 PM in the Chapman Funeral Home, BRIDGEWATER. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday at 6 PM in the Chapman Funeral Home.
