Janet Burney Obituary
Janet was a wonderful cook, an avid reader and enjoyed spending free time in her garden. She shared everything she so lovingly baked with family and friends. Janet enjoyed visiting with all of her grandchildren and attending lots of their activities and sporting events. Her greatest joy was her family.
During her working years, she worked as an administrative assistant at Liggett Myers, Charlie Potter Financial Group and Trinity Ave. Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Burney is survived by her husband, Donald Wayne Burney; daughter, Tracy (Eric) Anderson; son, Bradley Wayne Garner; grandchildren, Kyle (Taylor) Anderson, Eliina Anderson, Nicole Anderson, Cody Garner; great grandson, Brentley Anderson; sisters, Robin Johnson and Marcia (Kermit) Williams; step-daughter, Millicent Russell.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Clements Funeral Chapel, with the funeral service following at 2:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Thomas Colley. Burial will follow at Northern Free Will Baptist Church.
The family is being assisted by Clements Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. in Durham. Online condolences may be sent to www.clementsfuneralservice.com.
