Janet Elaine Chisholm passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Her gentle spirit and kind heart were a comfort to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
Janet was born on November 7, 1946, in Lynn, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth Chisholm. She was pre-deceased by brothers Raymond and Arthur, and her sister Carolyn Collins. She is survived by her sister Susan Cannady of Orange, California, her sister-in-law, Linda Chisholm of Bartlett, New Hampshire, and her many nieces and nephews, who brought her great pride and joy, as well as many close friends.
Those who knew Janet will remember her for her compassion, her quiet strength, the way she made everyone feel welcome and valued, her passion for her four-legged friends, her love of sports—softball and bowling—her love of music, as well as a hot cup of tea. Her presence brought humor and light into the lives of others, and her memory will continue to inspire love and kindness, as well as leave behind a legacy of caring, connection, and treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
There will be a private celebration of life remembrance. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to the animal shelter Last Hope K9 Rescue, 71 Commercial Street #184, Boston, MA 02109 or make a donation on their web site www.lasthopek9.org. Please remember to sign the Guest Book on this site.
