Janet Burns Cline, age 71, went home to be with her Lord and Savior in the early hours of February 15, 2024. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she crossed over to her heavenly home. She was born on November 24, 1952 in Winston Salem, NC to Raymond Lee and Myrtle Louise Burns. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, five brothers, and four sisters.
Janet is survived by her loving husband, Leonard “Jack” Cline; sons Roddy Chandler Jr. (Tammy), Jody Chandler (Lisa), Dallas Chandler, and Nathan Wilkins; grandchildren Taylor Chandler, Austin Chandler, Bryson Chandler, Deagon Chandler, Dylan Chandler, DJ Ng (Alexandra), Alex Ng, Austin Hackett, Brayden Chandler, Elizabeth Wilkins, and Ian Smith; three great grandchildren, Kit Ng, Miles Ng, and Owen Ng; and numerous nieces and nephews and all of their families.
Anyone who knew Janet would agree that her family was the most important thing to her, directly behind her love for the Lord. Janet loved singing in the choir and praising the Lord at Lexwin Baptist Church. She loved working with the children at the church throughout her many, many years of service. When her boys were younger, she was very active in watching all their sports events. As the grandchildren began activities their Nana could almost always be found in the crowd cheering and making her presence known if she felt her “Babies” were being slighted.
Janet’s children would like to extend their gratitude and thankfulness to their stepfather, Jack Cline, for all his years of dedication to their mom – specifically the past few years during her decline in health.
The family will hold visitation from 2pm – 4pm at Lexwin Baptist Church, 100 Wainwright Street, Winston Salem, NC 27107 on Sunday, February 18, 2024 with a memorial service starting at 4pm. A graveside service at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2730 Peters Creek Parkway, Winston Salem, NC 27127, will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 11am.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Lexwin Baptist Church, 100 Wainwright Street, Winston Salem, NC 27107 in Janet’s honor.
