Janet Cohn

Janet Cohn, 80, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026. A cherished piano teacher, friend, and confidant to many, Janet's smile and harmonious spirit touched far more lives than she ever imagined, her kindness rippling further than any of us can measure. Janet had the ability to hear not only the notes a person played, but the person behind them. She was a champion of the underdog, helping everyone feel like they belonged. She was the beloved wife of Michael Cohn; devoted mother of Rebecca Teiwes and Ben Kasman; beloved mother-in-law of Jeff Teiwes; cherished grandmother of Aiden, Ava, and Ella Teiwes. She was also the beloved sister of Bob Kaplan and Deborah Evans, and a special aunt to Jeremy Kaplan, Elli Emmons, Dan Kaplan, Rachel Evans, and Will Evans. The music never stops for those who truly love it, and Janet's melody will continue to play in our hearts and minds forever. A memorial service for Janet will be held at a future date.
