Janet Delehant Obituary
July 1, 1947 - October 20, 2024
Janet "Jan" Katherine Delehant, passed away peacefully at Prairie Gate Hospice on October 20, 2024, in Council Bluffs, at the age of 77.
Jan was born in Council Bluffs, on July 1,1947 and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1965.
She is preceded in death by her father, Edward Joseph Delehant, Jr.; and mother, Mary Jane Delehant; her sisters, Nancy Roberta Johnson and Stephanie Patricia Delehant; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Delehant.
Jan Leaves behind her daughter, Gina Marya Hetrick and husband, Gabe Hetrick; her grandsons, Jayme Alan Tietsort, Trae Tietsort III and wife, Cydney Jordan May; with great-granddaughter, Quillian Bernice Tietsort, and Austin Jay Edwin Tiesort; brothers, Richard Phillip Delehant and wife, Janet Kay, Edward Joseph Delehant III.
Jan was a strong independent woman who was proud to excel in a male-dominated field of software programming. A loving grandmother to her three grandsons, as well as a wonderful inspiration to all the women in her family. Jan was a wonderful sister and aunt to all who had the pleasure to call her family. Her coworkers and friends say she was a ball of joy and insperation. She was an ear to her community and a friend to all. Jan was a devoted Catholic who served the lord every day of the week and was always serving the lord.
Rosary recitation, Thursday, 6 p.m., followed by visitation until 8 p.m., all at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, 2 p.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Janet will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery.
