Janet M. Esper, age 83 of Monroe, peacefully passed away October 1, 2024.
Born January 21, 1941, Janet was the daughter of Harold and Retha (Weisbecker) Wickenheiser. A graduate of St. Mary Academy, she married Ron Esper on April 15, 1961, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Sadly, he preceded her in death June 30, 2012. Janet worked at Michigan Bell Telephone (A.T.T.) for over 30 years, retiring in 1994.
Janet enjoyed spending the winter months in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was a member of St. Mary Church in Monroe where she served as a Rosary Maker, greeter, and sang in the Resurrection Choir for many years. She was also a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, Port Charlotte.
Janet leaves to cherish her memory her sons: Deacon Tracy (Crysti) Esper, and Marty (Teresa) Esper, and special niece, Jill Calvin. Two brothers: Terry and Tim Wickenheiser, and one sister, Mariann Meyer, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Janet was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Wickenheiser, two sisters, Audrey Sims and Donna Langton; and three brothers-in-law, Ed Langton, Herb Meyer, and Gene Sims.
Following Janet's wishes, private services and burial were held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe. Arrangements were entrusted to Bacarella Funeral Home.
