Janet Lynn Espeseth, age 79, of Barron, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026 in Barron.

Janet was born in Champaign, IL on October 22, 1946 to John Samuel Humes and Eileen Black Humes of Urbana, IL. She lived in various states until settling in Sioux City, Iowa in October 1962 with her mother and step father, Larry Place. She graduated from Riverside High in 1964. She attended LIFE Bible College, graduating with a BA in Ministry and Christian Education in June 1968. She married Wayne L. Espeseth of Barron, on July 21, 1965 in Urbana, IL.

She, along with her husband Wayne, pastored Foursquare churches in Petersburg, IL (1968-1975); Royal Oak, MI (1976-1981); and Barron, (1981-2012).

Janet served on the Barron Library Board, Barron Food Pantry, Barron Ministerial Association and Growing Lights Academy School Board.

Janet enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, puzzles, playing games, and eating out with her friends. Most of all, she loved teaching the Word of God and spending time with her grandchildren who were such a delight to her.

Janet is survived by her children: Corie (Brendon) Manglos of Reeseville, WI and Jeff (Traci) Espeseth of Boulder City, NV; 4 grandchildren: Addison (Dillon) Espeseth-Swanson of Boulder City, NV; Elena Manglos of Milwaukee; Dylan Espeseth of Seattle, WA; and Landon Manglos of Barron. Three great-grandchildren: Sekani Morter of Milwaukee, and Archer Swanson and Declan Swanson of Boulder City, NV.

She was proceeded in death by her mother, Eileen Place; step-father, Larry Place; husband, Wayne Espeseth; and sister, Marcia Humes.

A funeral service will be held at Barron Foursquare Church at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 16. Visitation will be at Barron Foursquare Church from 4:00 until 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 15 and one hour prior to the service at the church.
