Janice E. Granahan
Jane Granahan, age 79, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at her residence following a long heroic fight with ovarian cancer. Despite the many challenges she endured during this struggle, she always maintained a positive attitude and willpower serving as an inspiration to everyone around her.
She was born in Erie on April 19, 1946, daughter of Howard and Mildred Meyers Armour.
Jane was blessed with a lifelong natural talent for arts and crafts. She demonstrated immense skill in watercolor and oil painting, sewing, and basket weaving, earning numerous awards for her artwork. She especially cherished her time spent with her craft club friends, where she delighted in sharing ideas and inspiration – a tradition they joyfully maintained for decades. Her passion for sewing and fabrics translated into a relationship volunteering for the Belle Valley Elementary School where she assisted with the production of school plays. She also embraced being a full-time homemaker and mastered every aspect of the job.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, John Armour.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald Granahan; son, Michael Granahan and brother, Ron “Buster” Armour.
