Janet L. Haskins Harris

Janet L. Harris, 91, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Swanton Valley Rehabilitation. She was born in Palmyra, Michigan to parents Glenn and Iva (Bancroft) Carncross. Janet was employed as a bus supervisor with the Toledo Public Schools from 1964 – 1986 and the Lee County Florida Schools from 1988 – 2004, and again at Lee County from 2007 until 2015.

Janet is survived by her children, Phil (Connie) Kerr, Vickie (Ken) Ostrander, Rick (Kelly) Haskins, Luann (Mike) Haskins, Kathy (Jim) Preston, and Kimberly (Dennis) Slagle; grandchildren; Renee (Jan) Horshak, Kellie (Tommy Miller) Pelland, Corey (Mark) Ostrander, Shawn Peto, Alisha (Nick) Espitia, Amy (Andy) Shade, Ashly (Jamie) Haskins, Ben (Tracy) Haskins, Beth (Nate) Henderson, Erika (Casey) Swaney, Michael Preston, Nicole (Tyrell) Godwin, and Dennis Slagle Jr; 23 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; and 1 great-great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Paul Haskins in 1997 and Herbert Harris in 2011; sons, Terry and Danny; sisters, Evelyn Reed and Frances Jones; and great granddaughter, Violet Slagle.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 1:30pm until the funeral ceremony begins at 3:30pm. Those wishing to offer memorials are asked to consider, in lieu of flowers, tributes to the Faith Lutheran Church, Swanton, Ohio.
