Janet Hewitt Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 9, 2013.
Janet Jane Hewitt was born on 8 December 1946 in Muskegon, Michigan. Her father, James Cefalo, was a baker and owned his own bakery. Janet's mother, Helen (Zilman) Cefalo was a housewife and helped in the bakery. Janet's lifelong skill at cooking and baking no doubt resulted from her parent's influence. Janet grew up in California, and after school held a number of positions in industry, ultimately becoming an executive at Blue Cross in San Bernardino, California. In 1984 she moved with her husband Frank E. Hewitt, Jr. and youngest child, Cindy to Winter Springs, Florida. Janet owned a number of small businesses after moving to Florida. Her sucess and loyalty to her customers was well known. After retirement - an inappropriate use of the word if there ever was one, Janet and Frank ultimately moved to Daytona Beach. Until her illness, Janet remained active, participating in numerous charities, most notably Bountiful Blessings, an outreach program for the homeless, and numerous animal shelters. Even while stricken with cancer, Janet did all she could to support friends and associates who were down on their luck or suffering from illness, Janet was the youngest of three siblings. She is preceded in death by her brother Bob Bidney. She is survived by her sister Grace Bidney. Janet is also survived by her husband Frank. Janet was the proud mother of three children. Steve, Wendy, and Cindy. The trio gave Janet seven grandchildren. Steve and Christina's children are Stephen, Evelyn, Robert, and Jonathon. Wendy and her husband Steve have two daughters, Claire and Victoria, each young adults. Cindy and Arnie's son, Reagan Benjamin Eastlick, is 9 years old. Janet was a life long Roman Catholic. She was bouyed by her faith as her health declined. Even in her last months, Janet attended Church regularly, and would pray for family, friends, and even strangers unceasingly and with equal vigor.
