Dear David, Aunt Ethel & Family-
We are so, so sorry to hear of Janet's passing. David, your wife sounds like a wonderful woman who put both family and family of the heart first. It seems that she has touched more lives than we may ever know. We send love, light and healing to you, your family and your family of heart.

To David and the children, know that Janet loved you with every ounce of her being. That she touched the hearts and minds of all that she met. Her life and talent was a blessing. She will always be remembered for graciousness, kindness and most of all her humbleness. Her life was a model that many wish too achieve. I will forever remember her smile, and her friendship. Thank you Janet for being a part of my life, you are missed.

We had a wonderful lunch with Janet at the Strawberry Street Cafe while visiting our daughter, Jen, in the Spring of 2008. We were both delighted to see her, and catch up on the news of your family. We grieve with you.

I remember first meeting Janet in Ossining about 40 years ago. She had that lovely smile that stayed with her throughout her life. She was a joy and I'm so sorry for your loss.

What a sad surprise to get your call yesterday. I can only say that we are so sorry that Janet was stolen away from you and your children. She was gracious, warm and welcoming and we will always remember her contributions to our lives as we are so much better for having her as part of who we are. Be strong.

She was an wonderful professor that always challenged me to take my design work further, when I thought it was good enough. She treated us with professionalism and expected our work to reflect this. This is a characteristic that I hope to honor as I go through my career - and I'm grateful to Janet for this excellent example.
