Janet "Flavie" Jean

Janet "Flavie" Jean, age 86, of Medford passed away on Sunday, July 28. Born in Haiti, she was the daughter of the late Flourent Laurent and Lamacy Jean. Janet came to the US in 1972 and settled in Medford, Massachusetts where she lived for over 50 years. Janet was employed at Boston Children's Hospital as a laboratory assistant, and will be remembered by all who really knew her as a strong, driven, independent and hard-working individual.
Janet was the beloved wife of the late Gabriel Jean, and the devoted mother of Sabina Jean Blanc and her husband Nadal, and Gilbert Jean and his wife Shamaina. She was also the loving grandmother of Nivea, Bernardo, Noah, and Jarvis, as well as a dear sister to her late siblings: Denie, Camo, Lasaw, Brenaw, Yvonne, Anna and Elda.
Janet is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great grand nieces and nephews:
Edlyn and her children: Ruth Ashley Bertilus and Eliana Allie Bertilus; Nadine's children: Rogine, Abrielle Nadgeana and Joseph; Maxo and his children: Jaliil Jean-Bart keonii, Jean-Bart, Miilan Jean-Bart; Yvrose's and her child, Alesha Cesar; and more that are not mentioned. Thank you all for your prayers and support.
Mrs. Jean will forever live in our hearts. We are sure she is so grateful for your kindness.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Janet's family in the Dello Russo funeral home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, August 9 from 4 PM through 8 PM, and again on Saturday, August 10 at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in Saint Raphael Church 512 High St., Medford at 11 AM. Service will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
