I always found Janet in whatever situation I encountered her to be friendly, helpful, and interested in helping me accomplish my own goal. I will miss her.

Condolences to Janet's family. Janet and I spent many happy times together singing in the Morris-Tones and the church choir.

This is from her sister Joan Buker Strong:

Mostly she remembers that her beloved sister Janet always looked out for her and took care of her when she was little. No matter what, Janet always persevered.

This is a funny memory:
One day when I was 5 years old, Janet and I were at a neighboring farm with a friend of hers. She often took me places with her. I for some unknown reason peed on the kitchen floor and I told my sister, and she came to help me. She took one look, grabbed a mop, and started to clean up. All the while, Janet was singing "Twas a moment like this, do you remember ". (from a song).
I have often thought of that through the years and had to laugh. That was my sister!

This is from her niece Carla Strong Spahn:

Aunt Janet never missed a birthday, graduation, or anniversary. She always kept in touch with me and my children (her grandnieces) even from far away. The kids still talk about the visit when Aunt Janet and her boyfriend came to Iowa to see us and spend the day. We have a picture in our home of that day, and it is especially funny because our youngest, who was a toddler at the time, was getting into a cabinet and had found an old baby diaper. Janet had laughed and said the child should be proud she doesn't wear them anymore. We were all taking pics later and the toddler was supposed to hold the baby diaper up triumphantly in the pic (that was the plan), but one of her siblings put it on the little girl's head as a hat. That's what some of our family photos look like from that day. Aunt Janet thought that diaper hat was one of the funniest things she had seen. Of course, my now 7th grade daughter thinks that is one of the most embarrassing pictures she has ever seen.

Moving here in 4th grade, Sharon quickly become a best friend. Spending the night at her house became the beginning of feeling loved and accepted by Janet/Mom. I enjoyed chatting and laughing with her throughout the years. In loving memory of a wonderful person. I love you and will miss you always. Be at peace.
