Janet McBride, age 81, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at her home with her family at her side. She was a cashier and clerk at Carrol-Ames Hardware Store in Bryan for 30 years. She loved dancing at Kessler's Kountry Dancing in Auburn, Indiana, with her husband. Janet enjoyed cooking, long Sunday afternoon drives, working in her yard and flower gardening.
Janet was born on April 6, 1944, in Hillsdale, Michigan, the daughter of Vaughn Edward and Beverly Marie (Booth) Rogers. She married Melvin McBride on Sept. 25, 1965, at Montpelier, Ohio, and he survives.
Janet is also survived by her son, Robert W. "Bob" McBride, of Montpelier; daughter, Vicky M. McBride, of Bryan; a grandson, Tom (Abbie) Shpakow, of Batesville, Arkansas; three great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Suzi and John; brothers, Larry Rogers, of Jerome, Michigan, Mike Long, of Garden City, Michigan, Gary (Janet) Rogers and Bob Ruger, both of Florida; sister, Suzi Stephenson, of Belle Center, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepparents, Vaughn (Sally) Rogers and Beverly (Carlton) Long.
In accordance with Janet's wishes, there will be no services held. Her arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 W. Mulberry St., Bryan.
Memorials in honor of Janet may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
