Carolyn and McClain Family,
I just passed your old house on Canterbury and saw a "For Sale" sign, so I searched online.

I'm deeply sorry for your loss and wish I had known because I certainly would have stopped by and paid my respects. It's been 4-5 years since I saw Mom in the driveway with Carolyn and I stopped to say hello.

I remember enjoying visiting with her around the kitchen table when I dated Carolyn, under the scrutiny of Kim and Mark while Donna and Joanie always liked me :)

She was a great lady and certainly the Grand Matriarch of the McClains. I'm sure she is greatly missed by all and will live in your hearts forever.

Again, my deepest condolences. Take care,

To the entire McClain family,

We just arrived home to find our wonderful neighbor's driveway empty for the first time in more than 40 years. Imagine our devastation.

Both your mom and dad were always so fun to be around, and so kind to my kids. Janet was so interested in others -- and so proud of all of you! She loved to show me pictures of her grand children and great grandchildren.

In our visits these last few years, she'd often tell a joke or share a poem she'd written long ago. Both she and your dad were so such a good example to all who knew them.

We are so sorry we missed the opportunity to attend her wake and funeral, both to honor her memory and to offer you each our condolences in person. Canterbury will never be the same.

To the family of Janet McClain. Our families were friends a number of years ago. I attended St. Bernadette Church and saw her often. She is in my thoughts and prayers at this sad and difficult time along with all of her family whom she loved so much. My deepest sympathy to all. Sincerely, Eileen Jamieson

Donna, Please accept my prayerful condolences on the death of your mother. Because you are a woman of great faith, I know you don't consider this a"loss", but rather a new life in Christ for your mother.
