Janet Earlynn Miller

Janet E. Miller 80, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025 in a Kansas City hospital surrounded by her family. She was born December 16, 1944 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of the late Velma and Earl West. Janet graduated from Central High School and the St. Joseph Junior College. She then married Hillert "Sonny" Miller on July 16, 1966. She worked at Sisters Hospital, and the Gower Convalescent Center as a CNA. Janet enjoyed crocheting, word searches, puzzles, and traveling. She loved history and reading, and the Kansas City Chiefs. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Easton City Council for many years, and a former member of the Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church. Janet was preceded in death by husband, Hillert "Sonny" Miller, her parents, and a brother, Richard West. Survivors include: four children; Becky (Travis) Caw, Dean (Danielle) Miller both of St. Joseph, MO, Jerry (Dawn) Miller, Faucett, MO, and Dan (Brandi) Miller, Winston, MO, eight grandchildren: Patricia, Elizabeth, Drew, Callie, Samantha, Hayden, Wyatt, Alexas, and Chase, six great grandchildren, and 2 grand dogs. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the Rupp Funeral Home St Joseph, MO. A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, June 5th, 10am at Memorial Park Cemetery, Pastor Dan Kercher officiating. Please wear your favorite Chiefs shirts.
