Janet Miller

Janet Miller, age 75, of Norton leapt into the arms of Jesus, December 12th, 2025.

Born in Parkersburg, WV. July 11th,1950 to Glen and Loraine Hartshorn, Janet became a long time resident of Akron graduating from Kenmore High School in 1968.

Janet loved children and spent nearly 37 years providing caring and loving childcare for over 100 children who lovingly referred to her as "Aunt Janet". Her favorite place was in a rocking chair singing softly and rocking babies and little ones to sleep. Janet was known for her kind heart. She would give her last dollar to help someone she loved and often gave more of herself than she could even spare. Janet was a member of the Barberton Moose and a member of Hope Church in Akron where she enjoyed singing in the choir.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Wayne; her parents; brother, Kenneth L. Hartshorn; Brothers-in-law Stanley (Bud) Miller, Wes Miller, Terry Selogy; Sisters-in-Law Linda Heiney, Shirley Sandi, Donna Selogy; niece, Lisa Hartshorn; nephew Tony Sandi; and dear friend Ruth Gunnels.

Left to mourn her absence are her two daughters, Christine (Barry) Flesher, Lori (Jerry) Wilson; sisters, Margaret (Jim) Bennett, Nancy (Denny) Alkyer; Brothers-in-law, Joe (Karen) Miller, Jeff (Kim) Miller, and Mike Heiney; Sister-in-law Michealine Miller; numerous nieces and nephews; longtime friend, Jim Gunnels; and her most treasured person on the whole planet, Taylor Grace Flesher, her "little angel" and only grandchild.

Janet's family would like to thank the staff and residents of Barberton Post Acute for the friendship, family and care they provided for our mom for the past 9 years following her stroke.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home in Barberton, Ohio. The funeral service will be the following day, Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with interment at Lakewood Cemetery to follow.
