Janet Minette Obituary
Janet was a wonderful person with a passion for animals, her family and her work with students and co-workers at the U of M. She loved many pets in her lifetime, including many horses and dogs, especially Ed, her loyal companion for the last 16 years. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved going to family brunch each week and inviting new and old friends to join her! Janet was also extremely proud of her career with the University of Minnesota. Before her university career, Janet owned a women's clothing store in downtown River Falls. In her later years, Janet found great pleasure in taking cruises to Alaska with family. She also enjoyed reading, patio gardening, crime television, driving scooters and visiting friends and family with Ed in his stroller. Her family and friends will miss her greatly.
Janet is survived by her children, Laura Minette, Melissa (Craig) Kraemer, and Jason (Belinda) Minette; grandchildren: Jeff (Rosie) Kraemer, Katelyn (Ritvik Parupalli) Kraemer; and her siblings: Terry Berger, David Berger, and Barbara (Tim) Wilson and many beloved extended family members. Her parents, Weldon and Pearl, preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at O'Connell Family Funeral Home: 520 11th St. Hudson, WI 54016. A visitation will start at 12:00pm. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls, WI

Sincere condolences to Jan's loved ones. I worked with Jan in the Math. department at the University of Minnesota. Jan impressed me as someone who was an honest, hard worker who cared about the students, staff, and faculty. I appreciated and shared her love of animals. It was a privilege to have known Jan.
