PASTOR JANET GAYLE NARVEL
July 11, 1955 ˜ August 16, 2023
Pastor Janet Gayle Narvel, age 68, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023, at her Murrells Inlet, SC, home with her loving husband, Jack, by her side. Born in Longview, WA, Jan was the daughter of the late Robert Ray Edmundson and Dorothy Edmundson. A graduate of Modesto Junior College in Modesto, CA, with additional studies at Clark College in Vancouver, WA, Jan was an administrative pastor for Grace Fellowship International Network. She attended Crossroads Community Church in Vancouver, WA, where she and Jack met, and Journey Church in Murrells Inlet, SC. Jan enjoyed a very active social life that included, occasionally, golf, photography and ministering about Jesus to everyone she met. In addition to her parents, Jan was preceded in death by her brothers, John Edmundson and Bill Edmundson. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 25 years, Jack G. Narvel, Murrells Inlet, SC; children, Darold Hinds (Marci), Portland, OR, Jordan Andrew Narvel (Ashley), Vancouver, WA, Rachael Courtney Mendez (Richie), Vancouver, WA, Hannah Blythe Narvel, Vancouver, WA, and David Austen Narvel, Vancouver, WA; grandchildren, Michael Hinds, Taylor Hokanson, Robert Hinds, Portland, OR, Bianca Mendez, Carmen Mendez, Julianna Mendez, Ophelia Mendez, Vancouver, WA; sister, Joanne Larson (Larry) Castle Rock, WA, brothers, Vernon Kondra (Sharon), University Place, WA, and Jon Kondra, Antioch, CA; several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Jan’s life will begin at 4 p.m. with services concluding at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023, at Lynchwood Christian Church, 3815 SE 174th Ave., Portland, OR 97236. Pastor Giuseppe Armato officiating. Burroughs Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Murrells Inlet, SC (843.651.1440) is assisting the family.

Dear brother Jack,
We were so sorry to hear of Jan's home going. We are rejoicing that she is now with our Savior experiencing glory beyond our imagination. We know that you are rejoicing with her as well, but certainly it is painful for you to experience this "temporary" absence from the love of your life. We pray for our Father to overwhelm you with the awareness of His loving presence and that He will provide you with much grace, peace, comfort, and wisdom during this time in your life. We rejoice that the next time you and all believers see Jan, there will be no more parting. With love and prayers.
