Windsor/Chicago- Janet Ann (Mortenson) Ollech, age 75, the Matriarch of our family, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer. Jan was born on March 4, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the second child of Arthur and Mary (Lesnar) Mortenson, joining her brother Art.
Jan graduated from St. Gregory High School in Chicago, Illinois in 1965. Soon after she married and started a family. Jan spent most of her early years being a wonderful Mother, Wife, Aunt, and trusted Friend to many.
Jan also spent many years owning, running, and managing 2 successful businesses. The most recent being a bar, The Cabaret Lounge. She was happy being there for all of her patrons that looked at her as "Mom", as she cared about each and every one of her customers like family. She will be missed.
Janet is survived by her four Sons: Peter (Lisa) Lindahl, Bill Lindahl (Julie Del Pilar), Mark (JoAnne) Lindahl, Robert Ollech; seven Grandchildren, Andrew, Amanda, Abby, Mary, Nick, Isabella, Amelia; one great-granddaughter Nora and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Mary and her Brother Arthur Mortenson.
At this time there will be no services per Mom's request. We hope to gather for a celebration of her life in the future.
