Janet Acaling Rigodon

It is with deep sorrow and great love that we announce the passing our beloved "Nene", Janet Acaling Rigodon of Woodside, New York, who passed away peacefully at the age of 92.
She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Armando T. Rigodon; sisters, Myrna A. Retino, Minviluz A. Azarcon; her sisters in law Leticia C. Acaling, Mila I. Acaling and Sonia R. Reloj and her cherished nieces and nephews.
Born in Banga, Aklan, Janet moved to NYC in pursuit of a better life and greater opportunities. Her dedication to education and personal growth defined much of her life. She began her career as a teacher in Brooklyn, where her compassion and commitment to her students made a lasting impact. Determined to continue advancing in her field, rose to the position of Director. Her professional achievements were a testament to her diligence, intelligence and unwavering sense of purpose.
Beyond her career, Janet was the heart of her family. She embodied the true meaning of love, kindness, and selflessness – always serving as a source of guidance and support to those around her. To her nieces and nephews, she was more than an aunt; she was a second mother.
Janet cherished spending time with family and friends, celebrating lifes moments, and finding joy in the simple things. She loved gatherings, parties, and any occasion that brought people together. Known for her independence, charisma, and warm personality, she found delight in listening to other's stories and sharing laughter.
In her later years, she especially enjoyed visiting casinos and playing mahjong with her loved ones.
