It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Knight Schol; a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who peacefully departed this life on November 29, 2025, at the age of 76. Janet was born in Brooksville, Florida, and spent her life nurturing those around her with love, wisdom, and compassion.
Janet earned her associate's degree, which laid the foundation for her dedicated career as a Teaching Assistant with the Alachua County School District. She spent many years fostering the minds of young learners, leaving in indelible mark on the lives of her students and their families. Her commitment to education mirrored commitment to family; she believed in the power of knowledge and kindness.
Janet is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald Schol; her cherished son, Dean Schol; her grandchildren, Eliza Lee, Justin Jennings, and Devin Jennings; and her great-grandsons Spencer Lee and Travis Lee. Each of them will carry forward her legacy of compassion, strength, and dedication.
In reflection of Janet's rich life and the profound impact she had on her community and family, a memorial service will be held in her honor at a future date, details of which will be shared with family and friends. Following her wishes, Janet will be cremated, and a private disposition will take place at Forest Meadows Cemetery - West.
As we celebrate Janet's life, we remember her warmth, her laughter, and her unwavering support. Her spirit will continue to guide us as we cherish the memories we hold close to our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Haven Hospice in Janet's memory, allowing her passion for teaching to live on through future generations.
