LAGRANGE - Janet L. Seman, 85, of LaGrange, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025.
She was born on Jan. 30, 1940, in Auburn to Walter Winfred and Beatrice E. (Ruehart) Lepley.
Janet was a 1958 graduate of Ashley High School. She attended Ball State University for a short time before choosing to marry the love of her life, Robert C. Seman, on Jan. 17, 1959, at the Ashley United Methodist Church. They shared 66 years of marriage before his passing on Feb. 27, 2025.
Janet's first job was working in the candy section at the W.R. Thomas 5 & 10 in LaGrange. After raising her children, she returned to the workforce and spent 18 years as a baker in the cafeteria at Lakeland Jr. High School.
Following retirement, she and Bob found joy in volunteering together at the LaGrange Food and Clothes Basket and World Missionary Press. They also shared a love of traveling and explored much of the United States and Canada.
Janet gave her life to Christ at the age of 12 and remained a faithful servant throughout her life. She was a devoted member of the LaGrange First Church of God, where she taught Sunday School for an incredible 55 years. She also led the 55+ group for two decades, alongside Bob.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Parkview Home Health & Hospice nurses and staff - Dawn, Samantha, Kathy, and Sue - as well as to her caregivers, Amy Click and Marilyn Ott, for their outstanding care and compassion for Janet.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at the LaGrange First Church of God, 777 N. Detroit St., LaGrange, with Rev. Rich Laskowski officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.
