Janet Skarupski Obituary
Janet M. Skarupski, 88, of Kewadin, passed away on February 24, 2025.
Janet was born on February 27, 1936 in Detroit, the daughter of Rue and Rose (Polance) Kohn.
She was a longtime resident of Riley Center, MI, before moving to Kewadin in 2018. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elk Rapids, enjoyed trips to the casino, cross stitching, reading, and playing games on her I Pad.
On July 2, 1955, in Hazel Park, MI, she married Leonard P. Skarupski who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter Linda (Jan) Veliquette of Kewadin, 5 grandchildren, Jason (Eryn) Veliquette, Kevin (Kaity) Veliquette, Geoff (Amy) Veliquette, Gabrielle (Aaron) Hill, Justin (Ryleigh) Veliquette as well as 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Lenny and Jeffery Skarupski, a sister Alice Whitfield and her parents.
A Funeral Mass will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elk Rapids on Wednesday, March 12, at 11 am.
Memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY, 10306.
Arrangements are in the care of the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
