Massillon - Janet Ruth (Denton) Slone (72) passed away on August 31, 2025 following a long illness. She passed peacefully at Aultman Hospital in Canton, surrounded by her loving family.

Jan was born in Millersburg, Ohio, daughter of the late Raymond Denton and Amy Whitehouse. A 1971 graduate of Perry High School, she spent most of her life in the Perry and Massillon area. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be missed dearly by her entire family.

She celebrated 44 years of marriage with her loving husband, Bob, this past January.

Jan is survived by her husband, Robert Slone, sons Chad Byington and Michael Slone (Amy), daughters Amie, Ashley, and Amber Slone of Massillon. Twin sister JuDee Reed (Gary) and Jeanine Denton of Massillon, Karen Erb, Nancy Kautz (Dave) , Bobby Huprich (Kathy), Kenny Huprich. Her grandchildren Simon and Mabel Slone, and Truston Carbaugh will remember their Oma's love and caring.

She was preceded in death by both parents, loving step-father Aaron Whitehouse and brother R. Scott Denton (Anna).

She will be missed by loving friends Barby Schnetzer, Debbie Davis, Barb Schollaert, Linda Howick- Fowler,Cindy Murphy and Lisa Leech.

According to her wishes, she will be mourned and remembered privately by her family.
